OCRview is a low cost lot verification system designed to ensure that the wafers in a cassette match the lot I.D. tag. |
Microtronic developed this wafer OCR reading system based on neural networking technology. The user scans the tag and places the cassette on the Microtronic single-cassette reader, which then automatically finds and aligns the flat or notch on all wafers simultaneously and reads the OCR of the first, second or third wafer in the cassette. The lot I.D. and OCR information are sent to the host computer, and the user is prompted in the event of any mismatch.
OCRview employs neural networking software a ‘human learning’ algorithm applied to machine vision and object identification – which offers the highest read rate available. The software is capable of recognizing characters obscured by as much as 30% and does not rely on font file character matching. The software stores multiple images required to identify a character.
